PAST TENSE

Past tenses is used to reveral the events that happened in the past.

Adverbs that can be used;

- Yesterday - In 1995

- Just now - The other day

- A year ago - Every day last year

- Two days ago - A few minue ago

- Last night - An hour ago

- Last week -

a. Positive (+)

Formula : S + V2 + object/adverb

b. Negative (-)

Formula : S + did not + V1 + object/adverb

c. Interogative (?)

Formula : Did + S + V1

Example :

(+)I went to his house yesterday.

(-)I didn’t go to his house yesterday.

(?)Did I go to his house yesterday?

PROCEDURE TEXT

Procedure text is to explains the way to operate something.

Generic structure of procedur text are :

1. Aim/Goal : The goal of activity, such as the way of making a kite.

2. Material/Ingredient : The tools, materials or ingredient needed.

3. Steps : The process of how to get the goal or the way to operate something.

Characteristic linguistic features of this text incude the following :

1. Tenses are used simple present tense

2. Dominant imperative sentences such as sentences paterrns, don’t, cut, mix, stir, pour, etc.

3. Connectives used to short event’s or such action, while, the next, after, etc.

4. There are also adverbs to express detailed time, place, an accurate way.

Example : for two minutes, two centimeters from the top, etc.

5. It also usually uses the temporal conjuction, such as : first, second and then, etc.

Example :

Making Kite

Materials :

2 bamnoo blade, gle, oil, paper, yarn, knife, small weighing-machine, scissors and ruler.

Steps:

1. First measure and cut of uniform length bamboo, last whittled to use knife.

Sympathy Expression is an expression or feelin of pity and sorrow when we know and see someone or people are unlucky or have trouble and in bad condition. By expressing sympathy we want to show our concern or care fullness on other people’s condition.
Several expression of sympathy:
